Murali Surisetty

Senior Coastal Engineer, National Marine Dredging Company

Murali is a Coastal Engineer in NMDC’s Coastal engineering group with more than 12 years of experience in the Coastal Hydrodynamics & Environmental modelling, Navigational modelling and design of coastal structures adapting to every work discipline.

Mr. Murali has formulated solutions for critical problems like dredged plumes impact, shrimp tracking, fast-time navigations through complex channels, sediment ingress in a reef, flow in the Sluices gates, outfall flow dynamics, wave transformation and penetration in the harbours, bridge and road runoff studies. Mr. Murali has a strong consultancy and research background to excel in the field, prior to NMDC, he worked in Worley Parsons, Dubai, in Doha and India for COWI A/S, where he was involved in numerical modelling and navigational specialist for various coastal processes associated with prestigious projects.

Mr. Murali is having a wide range of experience in using numerical modelling software like MIKE 21/3, TELEMAC, SWAN, CEDAS, CORMIX for providing solutions for various coastal modelling projects. SHIPMA for fast time navigation of vessels embarking/disembarking the port facilities. Mr. Murali has earned a Master degree in Physical Oceanography, a CSIR (Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, India) qualified Lectureship candidate and has few publications related to his research discipline.

Mr. Hussein M. Abdulmuttalib

Hussein M. Abdulmuttalib achieved BSC and MSC in civil engineering, specialized in GI Science from the Technical University of Budapest (BMI). Currently he is holding a position as GIS Senior Specialist in Dubai Municipality’s GIS Department, previously he held similar position in Abu Dhabi Municipality and worked as spatial engineer in Geodezia Holding in Budapest. He is the founder and the technical manager of GRASF Conference series since 2013, a member of the Technical Team of OGC. He is currently chairing ISPRS ICWG III/IV B Remote Sensing Working Group. And he is also representing Dubai Municipality as a sustaining member in ISPRS. He was the member of the local committee for organizing the international conference JURSE 2017.

Yasser R. Othman

Yasser Othman leads the Environmental information and reports unit at Environment Agency Abu Dhabi as a Section manager, and oversees the management of environment data and its dissemination process.

Prior to his role at EAD, he was involved with the Department of Geology, Faculty of Science at United Arab Emirates University in teaching Remote Sensing and image processing, and has worked as an expert in the area of remote sensing and image processing at the United Nations Food & Agricultural Organization (UN/FAO) in East Africa.

Currently in his role at EAD, he is creating, publishing and implementing the environmental indicators framework. 

Through his career as an environment data specialist, he has managed significant environment projects like the establishment of the Geospatial portal on Environmental Data, establishment of specialized application for marine water quality and environmental studies reports, developing the remote sensing and image processing lab as also oil spill monitoring of the Arabian Gulf by using satellite imagery etc.
